This is an active log of my struggles with my weight. And trust me, I struggle. A lot.

July 14, 2011 - 240.25 lbs
    So, here's the deal. At the end of May, I weighed 252 lbs. I didn't put it up here, because I'm lazy, that's why. I don't know why I gained weight between January and May, but I did. Since May, I have been on a more strict form of Paleo than what I was doing before (excepting for the occasional cheat, but those are rare). What does that mean? I've been avoiding grains like the plague (I mostly was before anyway, but still), and abstaining from dairy for the most part (most of what I do consume is in cooking), and not eating potatoes except those rare occasions when I'm cooking with them. I've also been avoiding processed foods almost completely and cut way down on my consumption of artificial sweeteners.  I've lost, like, twelve pounds in the last month and a half, and I'm not even being particularly strict with myself (I'm having an affair with fruit, which wouldn't be so bad if  I was better at moderation).  For a while I was also going to the gym, which seemed to be helping. I need to start doing that again. I can proudly say that I'm now able to wear jeans a size smaller. 


January 13, 2011 - 251 lbs.  <sad face>
    If you can't tell, I've been avoiding the scale. What you don't know is that it's because I have been having an affair with popcorn. I need to stop eating it, at least, I need to stop eating it on a nightly basis, but no, I just keep doing it. And I've also been having an affair with diet soda, which, undoubtedly, hasn't been helping me in the least.


November 4, 2010 - 245.5 lbs
    Yes, this is the official starting weight. We'll see what happens from here. I'm hoping the vast majority of activity is in the downward direction.
